High Score Products was formed during 1985
by a person called Bill Chrisman. The brand marketed fresh
product he had come up with. The brand gained its popularity
with this new product of urethane bowling balls. It was
marketed and distributed under the name of U Clean or U Score
Urethane Bowling Ball Cleaner™.
High Score Products had just one product
till 1991, when the availability of time and money brought an
opportunity to produce bowling balls. Mr. Chrisman came up with
the plan as he had been in several other industries and
involved with bowling regularly. In 1991, Mr. Chrisman brought
Keith Orton in to the picture. Keith Orton had been a pioneer
in the production of urethane bowling balls.
Finally the time came when the first sets of
balls were manufactured in August 1991. After some deliberation
that actually lasted for a couple of weeks, the company came up
with the name STORM. The name was chosen specifically to
promote and advertise the newly manufactured balls in a way
that graphic representation is enhanced because of the name
storm. The name stood for power and traditionally related
associated with bowling and a few other sports gears. The name
was an instant hit as it had a universal quality that could cut
across cultural and geographical barriers. The name could hit
the foreign and domestic markets in no time.
By 1992 the Storm received tremendous
national attention. There was a lot of growth in the High Score
Products. The business literally increased threefold and the
plant had to be moved at a bigger location. The varieties of
bowling balls from Storm that have hit the market are not
comparable to any of the other brands. The varieties include
Invasion, Virtual Energy, Virtual Gravity, Tropical Heat Orange
and Purple, Tropical Heat Black and Silver, Tropical Heat Red
and Blue, Tropical Yellow and Purple, Tropical Ocean and Sky
Pearl, Tropical Red and Black Pearl.
Today Bowling balls can be found with
several prominent amateur as well as professional bowlers. The
brand named Storm continues to flourish across the globe. The
first step that was taken for the successful implementation
towards its production was the technology that was used. The
next was representing something powerful to the potential
customers and then walking the talk by providing the quality
that was promised during its promotions.
